Filmmaker Gad needs it for his film; Beatrice would like it for cosmetic surgery; her boyfriend Hans-Jürgen; needs it for better acting roles; Franz earns it with dubious magazine stories, and his girlfriend Mariola wants it so she can finally leave him and go to America with Gad. The money, without which love supposedly makes no sense, sets things in motion, but this movement/emotion does not necessarily mean progress—it sometimes turns out to be a cycle.
